overeating. my problem started when i became disabled 25 years ago. i became more sedentary every year but didn't decrease calories, and i ate a lot of junk food out of boredom. i'm at a weight loss clinic and really trying this time. so far only around 5 pounds in 2 months. calories last couple of weeks decreased a lot. today was around 1000 calories, yesterday 800 and even 500 one day. my 3 main things to help is salad, green beans only 35 calories a can, and jared red peppers, only 60 calories a 12 oz jar

It is so hard to loose weight when we get old, and so easy to gain it. I need to loose around 60-70 pounds myself, but I keep eating and eating and eating.
DON'T GIVE UP MIKE!

Good luck on your weight loss Mike. I admire you for eating healthy foods and trying. You mention Jared red peppers. That was my craving when I was pregnant *hi5

We should form a 'hate myself' club.
i hate mistakes i've made
i hate my health/pain issues
i hate a lot of aspects of my life
i love myself.

@seabird and @SillyOldBear i know both of you have your own issues but unless i'm wrong you hate certain things in your life not yourself, there is a big difference.

i know you a little better @SillyOldBear so i have an idea. once you reach our age it comes down to someting simple. we look back on our life and can we honestly say we enjoyed parts of life, made a difference to help others , basically was our life a positive one and are we ready to die happy with our life or was it wasted and selfish.

i know i made some serious mistakes, i could have made more money if i didn't marry and have kids so early etc. etc. but i look back and i'm happy with my life and i'm ready to go home because i made a positive difference in my family, friends and even some strangers.

you should be like me, look back at your life and you have shared more with others than i have. you are a good person and deserve to go home and touch the face of god.

unfortuntely we have to wait to go home. and yes because of age we have sickness and pain, it sucks. it is very hard to be positive but we have to squeeze what little joy we can to offset the last remaining years. no barb i i don't think you hate life, you hate suffering while waiting for god to call you home. god will call us home soon enough and the suffering is just a tiny drop in the ocean of eternity. you are stronger than you realize

Thank you. :) I hope you feel better soon too mike. Best to you on the journey of healthfully losing weight. I've renewed my efforts on this, lately. After my 10k I got sick and it's taken an entire month to completely kick it out of my system.
that sucks not feeling well for a long time. for some reason i kept getting sick this winter it would get better 2 or 3 days then sick again. i am feeling better now finally. i hope you have a great spring and summer with little to no illness or depression/anxiety
