SF Newsletter - November Edition 2, Issue #02

Hello SF, and welcome to the second newsletter! These were planned to be monthly, but there are a few updates to give and I couldn't resist a second one before December. Thank you so much for your comments on the last one, its genuinely appreciated and I've really enjoyed creating these. As usual, contributions and comments absolutely welcome! You can either read on here, or download the image to see it in print.

Chat Topic Nights are returning! This is a themed chat evening with their own dedicated chat room strictly for members to discuss the chosen topic. They're a great way to find like-minded people, try out chat if you haven’t yet and to share your opinions and advice in a safe space. Lurkers welcome if you’re not feeling confident, contribution not necessary.

I wanted to highlight this wonderful thread as it appeared on my feed at a time where I needed it. This thread quite simply shares reasons for living by members, whether that’s long term, or now in this moment. Some of my favourites were: ‘To watch the leaves change colour’ and the photos of nature (thank you @Innocent Forever and lines from a poem by Mary Oliver (thanks @Ash600!)

My profile pic is of a rainbow butterfly. Butterfly is one of my nicknames in real life, it's also colourful like me

What’s your favourite thing about SF?
SF feels like a family to me. I have been here since 2009.

What's your favourite thing to do to pass the time?
I love a documentary and my ultimate favourite thing to do is playing the sims!

Do you have any pet peeves?
Rudeness and being spoken down to.

Favourite place to be?
Somewhere abroad and sunny. My last holiday was to Corfu and it was amazing.

What are you most grateful for?
My family, partner and friend.

Something you wish you knew sooner?
That life does actually get better.

Do you have any pet peeves?
People who are inconsistent and hypocritical. Especially since they are often that way about rules and laws that they don't believe they should have on them.

Favourite place to be?
Snoozin' on the couch is good. That or sitting by a tank, creek or such with a cane pole is relaxing. Practically all of my pole fishing is with the cane pole my grandfather made for me, as well as all his other grandkids. Simple as can be, great for catch and release and get good hauls. For catching a mess of fish I always run trotlines.

What are you most grateful for?
I still mainly have my health and it isn't even worse as I age.

Something you wish you knew sooner?
Just how long and expensive life would be.
