What are your hopes and dreams?

I wish that we all could get rid of sadness and all the bad things in the world, but today someone that I look up to and have respect on told me that sadness exists because everything in this world needs to be balanced, and I thought that made sense, that's just how life goes. So I hope that we can all be strong and get through it all with a happy ending.

Other than that, I hope that soon I will settle down and have a happy life forever.

Your friend is correct that there has to be both joy and pain in order to keep balance. There has to be opposites. In other words, it takes pain in order to realize joy--to know what joy is.
