i have a feeling loads of people in public know who i am and they make fun of me, or at least comment on my insecurities. when i got home i pressed the stop on the bus, it didnt stop, i had to press again and get off at the next stop. did the bus driver recognise me and think i deserve that? i found it particularly triggering because i hate appearing impatient

the bus missed the stop right next to my house even though i pressed it. the bus stop was right next to my house

if the bus driver recognised me and had intentionally went past my stop to ridicule how impatient i look

i am devastated and in so much paim

The bus driver was almost certainly thinking about his own problems and just missed your stop by accident. I've often seen it happen. The person trying to get off shouts "Hey driver, you missed my stop," and the driver usually stops and lets them off.

I mean this in the nicest possible way: the general public all have more important things to think about than you. Most of them don't even notice you (or me, or anyone who isn't immediately relevant to them). Their minds are fully occupied dealing with whatever crap they have in their own lives. They don't know who you are, they can't see inside your head, they are completely unaware of what you're suffering. If they knew, most of them would want to be kind to you. Of course, there are always going to be a few arseholes, but that's not your fault.

About social anxiety: Most people rarely notice people that they think are anxious, neurodivergent, ugly, strange or funny-looking.

Even you probably don't notice people that you think are strange that much. Most people really notice people that they think are beautiful, attractive, stylish, etc.

I worked with the public before and the most common experience is someone customer acting anxious, the bus driver probably knows that anxious people are part of their daily routine.
