Can you delete your account

I was told no. It's apparently "property of the forum", but any means of tying you to the account vanishes a period of time after you stop using it.

This is from the Forum Rules:

10. 'Account Deletion': We do not delete profiles. You are in control of the personal information on your profile. If you wish to change your email address and password that can be done at a user level so you can no longer log yourself in. There is no 'account' as we store no personal information on members here. The threads you create and the content you add belong to the site once you enter them.
