This remains an extremely problematic topic for many members of our community. We recognise that it is affecting people in many ways and people may wish to seek support, but people who are made unsafe by the topic need to be able to avoid it.

With this in mind we have created a Covid specific forum. Please write threads in here ONLY if you need support around this topic. This is not a space for debate, political discussion, comparing situations or anything else that is not a personal support thread. Covid related content will not be allowed anywhere else on the forum.
If you wish NOT to see this forum for your own safety please 'ignore' it immediately. If you feel you may not be able to leave it 'ignored' then please message staff and we will remove it from your view.

There is a NO COVID chat room. This is a room that is entirely free of Covid related discussion. You can be in more than one chat room at the same time so please feel free to be in both the normal chat and the Covid free chat if that is safe for you. This rule will be quite aggressively enforced and your access to the Covid free chat room will be removed if you discuss this. It is important to the safety of our members that people can seek support free from this topic.
While covid is not a banned topic in the other chat rooms, it is only allowed in the context of seeking support for a personal situation - if someone is sick, if you lost your job, etc. It is not for general discussion, information sharing, debate about the best way to handle it or anything else that is not support related.
This topic is endangering our members. I recognise that people are afraid and may need support for a covid related issue so I am not prepared to entirely ban it as a topic, but if you wish to have a social discussion about the virus in general please do so away from this site and its vulnerable members.
