Hi all!

I just thought I’d let everybody know that I will be hosting the next Chat Topic Night on Saturday 1st March at 9pm GMT. I would like everybody to submit their ideas for a topic and I will put it to poll nearer the time.

The last one was really enjoyable and I’m hoping the next one will be the same.

Please tag anybody who might be interested in attending.

I like dougs topic as well, I was thinking art. a broad topic, we can make things more specific or keep it broad depending on the questions

Okay, maybe we could broaden it to healthy coping mechanisms we use when we’re overwhelmed with emotions or don’t have motivation to get out of bed?

Or something like, the best grilled cheese sandwich you ever had?

I'm concerned I don't like my topic that much. How much can folks say about yeah I like to draw or play trombone or whatever? I dunno. Hope people make more suggestions, the last topic chat went really well.

Just thought I would post time zone conversions for the US time zones. I know the conversions from my database work but I did check online to be sure.

9:00 pm / 21:00 GMT is:
  • 4:00 pm EST
  • 3:00 pm CST
  • 2:00 pm MST
  • 1:00 pm PST
  • 12:00 noon Alaska
  • 11:00 AM Hawai’i
FWIW, this is very close to the switch from Standard Time to Daylight Saving Time, but that is Mar. 3, so we’ll all be on Standard Time.
The times for AUS territories, e.g., Virgin Islands, and The Philippines are left as an exercise for the reader. :D

Topic Idea: Loneliness and strategies to overcome it

I went back to the topics from the Nov 29, 2024 and pulled one of the tied for 2nd place ideas. This would be my choice, because I have seen many thread posts discussing loneliness, and it is a big problem for me, too.

That’ll take more than single chat to cover. Anyway, let me tell you about the time I put Gruyère and Muenster on freshly made sourdough. It was a warm July evening, warm enough that we left the back door open for the breeze. The neighbor grew jasmine and the smell was wafting through the apartment. I was digging through the fridge…
