Watching threads and following

I know I've only been here years *facepalm but I haven't worked out how to follow threads or members. I have clicked on things to do that but still haven't worked out how to actually see the posts or threads. Is there some way of finding things quickly?

Heya @BlueGreen

Basically how it works is if you click on "Watch" (bottom right side of the screenshot I made) for any thread you wish to watch (keep track of/follow) - you'll get a pop up where you can select how you want to receive the notification (e-mail+alert or just the alert).

You can find older threads you watched by clicking "Watched" as I pointed out on the top left hand side with the red arrow.

The alerts for likes you've received, new posts in threads that you are watching and more - will all show up on top right hand side of the screen under "Alerts".

Following is like sending a friend request - you can follow anyone you want and they will get an alert. Anyone can follow you. They do not get any extra information about you, so don't worry. If a member's posts are bothering you, you can choose to ignore them so you will not see their posts on the forum. The person you are ignoring is not informed and will never know.

Oh, thanks so much @Citizen Insane! I do get alerts, I just thought there was some place else maybe that all the posts from people I followed must go. Now it makes sense. Also the watched, I hadn't used that or realised what it was! *facepalm

Another question - I have a 'diary' that I have to keep searching for to update. Is there some way to find that easily?

Sorry I edited my post a bit late :D

It's this:
https://www.suicideforum.com/community/whats-new/news-feed

Is where you can find the "Feed" of people you are following, posts newest posts they made etc...

https://www.suicideforum.com/community/find-threads/started

Is where you can find many forum functions related to threads :) including your own diary - but the quickest way is to Bookmark the Diary thread. Depending on your browser (Chrome, Safari etc. you can create a bookmark and "never lose" the link to the thread.

Super thanks @Walker :D not sure if your alert/preferences on profile are set up correctly?

Use this link :) and take a look!

Thanks again @Citizen Insane. Yes, it was the threads function I needed. I should just have explored a bit more!
