I've found myself trying to drown all of my thoughts out in music lately, whether punishing my guitar or just listening to music as loud as the speakers can handle w/o distortion. For me it's been pretty theraputic. (apart from the blistered fingers) Here's some thoughts I share:

I have my own particular sorrows, loves, delights; and you have yours. But sorrow, gladness, yearning, hope, love, belong to all of us, in all times and in all places. Music is the only means whereby we feel these emotions in their universality.-Overstreet

Music is the art which is most nigh to tears and memory.-Oscar Wilde

Music is moonlight in the gloomy night of life.-Jean Paul Richter

Just what's on my mind right now

Thanks uhfx for that quote. Let's flat out not mention the source.

There's something that I see on here that moves me more than anything else and here's a quote that deals with it:

I have been impressed with the urgency of doing. Knowing is not enough; we must apply. Being willing is not enough; we must do.-Leonardo da Vinci

Hmm yeah re-reading that quote I completely see your point. I had only read it in context of my own 'issues', i.e. I have often felt like i want to die.. when really what i mean what i wanna do is stop the pain, i.e. the past. And it's at these times that I don't wanna face up to my feelings and the real underlying problems that are causing me the pain.

But no I don't think that trying to forget your past is a form of suicide. Hmm thinking about it I'm not sure what the quote's trying to say! Sorry.. silly quote really.. sorry :)

The hardest thing in life is watching the one you love love someone else. Seeing that look in their eyes, knowing that they never looked at you with such love, such a sense of wanting, needing, and desire. Then, have them not even know that that's the way you look at them. -Unknown

It takes a minute have a crush on someone, an hour to like someone, and a day to love someone; but it takes a lifetime to forget someone. -Unknown

Do you ever put your arms out and spin and spin? Well that's what love is like. Everything inside of you tells you to stop before you fall, but for some reason you keep going. -Unknown

"Caring is a reflex. Someone slips, your arm goes out. A car is in the ditch, you join the others and push...You live, you help."
Author:Ram Dass

"We wildly underestimate the power of the tiniest personal touch of kindness."

"The majority of us lead quiet, unheralded lives as we pass through this world. There will most likely be no ticker-tape parades for us, no monuments created in our honor.
But that does not lessen our possible impact, for there are scores of people waiting for someone just like us to come along; people who will appreciate our compassion, our unique talents. Someone who will live a happier life merely because we took the time to share what we had to give.
Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have a potential to turn a life around. It's overwhelming to consider the continuous opportunities there are to make our love felt."

"The value of kindness cannot be measured in human terms. An act of kindness enriches the heart of both the giver and the receiver.

People who have received a little act of kindness so small as a grain from another, tasted it and then, even if they receive an unkind act or word bigger than a palm tree, when they think of that little grain of kindness, the palm tree of unkindness will disappear.

So powerful is the act of kindness. Let us plant it in the centre of our hearts."

You'd soon forget to notice it."
