I'm a guy (like 98% of the time anyway, but that's another matter), and i'd say i focus more on career and financial stuff, but i'd say that's just because i strive for stability, a sense of purpose, and full control over my life, and finding a job that pays decently which i don't hate will be a really important part of attaining that. Plus i'd probably care more about love if i wasn't the kind of person who could easily be stifled by a relationship.
But personally, i'd say your teacher needs to move on from the 18th century. Women can absolutely care about their career ambitions more than anything, and honestly, a lot of women do way better in their fields than any of their male peers, because they are determined to prove people like that teacher wrong. And i think that kind of determination deserves so much respect. It takes major courage to go up against that kind of idiotic bias and prove it wrong, the kind of courage guys like that likely cannot even imagine. Seriously, don't let the words of some dinosaur get to you, every person is an individual, with their own ambitions and motives, regardless of gender.
