Teeth clenching, I tend to always be clenched.
Its hard to control because you don’t realize you are doing it until you try to open your jaw to talk or eat.

I have totally been eating perfectly fine and not doing anything sketchy whatsoever. I've tracked all my food intake and calories all this time.
I am super jealous Matt *weeps in corner*
Nothing to be wrecked about. We all got it inside us. I'm turning 44 in a few days!! *shh

Have you heard of the American programme Lu & Matt, its called the Biggest Loser...we should so do something like that :D

Even when I was on very strict unsustainable diets I couldn't lose that much, not because of the amount of weight but the motivation slacked off.

Very proud of you Matt :)

Thank you :)

The Biggest Loser is a bunch of people who are doing NOTHING all day but focusing on losing weight you know? So they are doing 6 or 8 hours of exercise and then hoovering up 100 grams of protein and have NO ABILITY to have any junk food because it's gone / not available. If you had that forced on you then you'd be able to do that too but it's unrealistic you know? People have lives and jobs and shit to attend to.

You don't need a strict unsustainable diet, Lynn. I lost all that from very little gym time. I did it mostly with diet of low carb (less than 50 a day) and high protein (I'm supposed to have 100 grams a day but tried to get in 60 cause 100 was just unreasonable for me). I tried to avoid unnecessary calories - no drinking them, no fast food, so processed sugars. Thats it. Nothing more and it's really not hard. I ate frozen microwavable things for work, meat and cheese for snacks, fruit, vegetables. I would have potatoes sometimes which put me FAR over the carb limit for the day but didn't care because I would do the tuna (light) mayo thing and it was a job lot of protein so it was worth it as an occasional. I haven't had a huge issue with the food aside of the people I live with load of the house with cookies, cake, donuts, candy, etc ALL the time. Sometimes those would fall into my mouth but I just kept on shoving on and here we are.

I see - wow I didn't realise it was that bad (the biggest loser) as i have only ever watched small bits and pieces and the end results. 6-8 hours of exercise a day, that is flipping madness. But me doing zero exercise is probably just as unhealthy, i cannot even walk up the stairs without running out of breath.

Thank you so much for the info, i'm going to try what you are doing - calorie counting, i appreciate you letting me know the ins and outs of it and carb control and you probably weigh out all of your food, i don't want to look like Kim Kardashion, i'd just like to look 'healthier' in a reasonable way :)

People on the Biggest Loser have had to have all kinds of medical intervention I was reading - for totally ruining their bodies doing it that fast. Completely nuts and not healthy. And so so so hard to maintain once you are back in the 'real world' as Matt said.

@Petal we have had more than one conversation about not enough calories, trust me, but he got that sorted out pretty early on. He's also not telling you that he has spent HOURS AND HOURS in the gym over that time treading water and swimming for like 90 mins at a time. He got cool bluetooth swimming headphones. He's slacked off recently so we need to get that going again ;) I plan to keep him forever so he needs to be healthy.

It's true, I have been going to the gym... but I *used* to go to the gym for several hours a day when I lost 100lbs before. I didn't do any dietary changes and only did the gym. I would do an hour of weights, an hour of cardio and then swim or hot tub when that was done. So now I feel like a lazy slacker only swimming. (Lu found that treading water is actually burning more calories than swimming so I just hop in and don't even both swimming)
I have slacked off recently lol Thanks for reminding me, baby. ;)

Thanks Lu, I understand,ok that show sounds absolutely ridiculous - a show for high viewer ratings i'm guessing. Wow, 90 minutes at a time, that is truly awesome, he must be extremely motivated. I hope he reaches the 40lbs down by the time he visits you. Wow @ bluetooth headphones - matt, you are going to put us all to shame *bleh

No slacking off Matt, Lu has you for life so don't take it for granted ;)

Have you ever looked up your TDEE? https://tdeecalculator.net/ Apparently a lot of people go by what that tells you and is very healthy.

I read reddit.com/r/loseit/ every single day to try and motivate myself, i think i have lost a little weight, i get weighed within the next 2 weeks, i shall let ye know how it goes :)

you probably weigh out all of your food
Only have to weigh food for a minute, right? Then you get to know what a serving of this is. Like I "know" that 6 thin slices of the turkey that I eat is an ounce and that is going to be 80 calories and 9 grams of protein. I "know" that xx amount of strawberries is what a serving looks like when I drop them in a baggie and that it's 40 calories. So once you start it then you don't have to keep track as much because that is difficult for "real world" living right?

P.S. Waterproof bluetooth headphones were like $100-$400 online. I could NOT decide on anything. I finally just closed my eyes and threw a dart, so to speak, picked a pair off amazon that were $35 and they are perfectly great. I swim while my phone is off on the side and I can skip sings and such during the stream from the headset. I don't submerge them but supposedly they're okay for that too.
