Status of Upgrades

If you installed a new OS chances are you also have a new version of chrome which means you need to enable java in Chrome - THIS THREAD shows you how.

I hope my old macbook works with new upgrades. If it doesn't, I'm history.

Their are a couple of very blunt rules,

Their are no infractions or warnings failure to respect the rules will result in a permanent ban from the test site that will not be contestable.

1. this site is purely for testing please do not open new threads asking for support please do that here.

2. keep the chat for testing only, no triggering subjects if you need support please use the chat on this site.

3. Rules are subject to change and are no up for discussion, we are looking for feedback, bug reporting etc.

for whatever reason raven my password doesn't work

you might have to try reseting your password on that site, it will only affect our testing site and not your login here

I signed into the new site and had a good look around, didn't see any bugs or anything.

I was thrown out a couple times, and I didn't "have permission" to get onto chat. Might be my lack of computer skills that's the problem though.

I really like the layout of the new test site, I'm not sure if the chat is up and running or not, or if it will only work with certain systems though? I have a macbook and the chat lets me click on it and then it just says "CHAT AND SOCIALIZE WITH OTHER MEMBERS . FOR SUPPORT OR JUST COMPANY." but nothing else to click on to actually enter chat. I just wanted to let you know in case it is supposed to be up and running. Thank you for doing this, Raven. You're amazing.

Hi, Raven. I logged on to the new site, but I changed my password here a few days ago, and the new site wouldn't accept the new password. I had to use the old one. ??

There are some bugs that need ironing out Entity but it will be possible to chat on your mac when we are all sorted

Ah, okay! Thank you! I know I can't get into chat on this one, so it will be nice to be able to go in chat again with the new site. I'm super excited. The test site looks really great so far!

Friday the 28th of this month we will be going into read only mode aka anything you do will not be recorded as we pull backups and start going crazy making copies of things.

but after the backup the forum will go offline as we move to the new software.

How long should we expect the site to be down for?

I am hoping only a couple of hours but be prepared for things to go offline here and their for a bit

Well that should be a big part, still a lot of background process and other things to get down but it seems for the most part the migration went off without a problem.
