talk about recipes I always cook spaghetti sauce or chili for 24 to 48 hours and it mixes all the flavors together. once we opened a jar of sauce for ravioli and it tasted so bad to us we couldn't eat it. does anyone else cook that long?

try it sometime cooking a sauce for at least 24 hours. if you use Italian sausage or hot peppers as well as other spices and diced tomatoes just to name a few things (sausage optional) everything comingles and the flavor is awesome. I used to do it on the stove but last few years I got lazy and use a crock pot. I think if you do it that way once you always will. we fill the crock pot use what we need and freeze the rest..mike
