Arms and core workout this moring. lol Put the core at the end and did planks with arms already fatigued, which forces focus on core. I keep forgetting to put my watch on for my strength workouts. 🤔 I guess I think of it as a part of my running but it'd be good to track the other kinds workouts too.

My target this Sunday 13 July was : 91,5 kg

I've managed to reach 90,3 kg - today. Which is ~ 12 kg from my goal. *thumbsup I may set my target to 89,5 kg - for 20 July.
I'll make some adjustments to increase food intake slightly, I may have overdone the exercising, but I'm thinking more about how I've been eating.

And balancing other activities too - I prefer to workout before doing other activities such as [reading, cooking, householding tasks, watching tv shows & gaming]. I don't always feel as relaxed when going to bed. *yes4
I'll try out some other variations next week, but will still manage my daily streak of fitness @ home.
Streak is almost at 30 days in a row now. *shy

How do you y'all balance (must do) activities, relaxation/distractions and have energy left for fitness? *thumbsup

Let me know, thanks!

Not much if anything of a workout but went on a tiny trail walk this morning, > 2 mi. up and back. Mental health wise it was defintely medicinal for me.
Hey 2 mi or so is nothing (for me) to sneeze at. My current fitness level is so poor that I consider a 30 min walk (1.5 mi) to be fully enough for the day. I usually don't even get that much unless I'm doing a lot of retail shopping. Maybe I should just go to a big, big retailer and walk around until I'm tired enough to leave. That would definitely get me more steps in, but I would probably spend my entire grocery budget in one trip because of my impulsiveness. This would be bad because I don't have a super large refrigerator in my little studio apartment.

I'm glad for your posts here bc the way you think, or at least represent your thinking with your posts, is so familiar to my thinking I end up grinning and then lol. Working out and exercise is mostly about mental health unless one is an elite kind of athlete, but physically if you enjoy it, as I do, it's also about hitting some goals. I believe I can speak for most of us in being very happy that you are doing okay/better/well (?) @LumberJack.

Brother that's awesome!!! I think I read earlier that you were starting from 100KG. Sorry if this is a repeat tale from me, but I got serious about my weight loss when I had a mass of 100.0 KG at the doctor's office. However, that was over 4 years ago. Well, now I am closer to 89, but that can swing fully 3KG ( ~7 lbs) in either direction from one day to the next. BTW I wanted to get down to about your target weight when I started. However, I have plateaued where I am now, and I'm not too worried about it. I think I look a little overweight now, but definitely not carrying an abdomen that made it impossible to see my feet without bending most of the way forward! Also, the type of potential mates that I pursue generally like guys with a degree of "padding," so I don't think my extra weight is getting me rejected when I wouldn't otherwise, lol!

The second thing I reacted to when I read the above is about over-training. I can tell you from my experience, that if I think I am barely pushing myself, I am breaking down my muscle tissue through workouts faster than I can recover before the next workout, which means more harm than strength. So by the time I feel like I'm overdoing it, I've already pulled a few connective tissues out of position. Overtraining injuries are easy to get and totally suck.

Well, I totally fail at prioritizing exercise and reading because I get lost in internet rabbit holes - meaning all I read is basically wikipedia and IMDB. Nonetheless, during the times when I am not hating myself for being an unemployed loser - I find that exercise first thing in the morning works out best. I prefer the cooler weather and it's easier to not get it crowded out when I have it in my morning routine.

Hope that entertains! or if not, at least helps!

got a ton of work in on my lower back today. I have been struggling with "anterior pelvic tilt" since my injury 18 yrs ago, meaning the spinal curve at the bottom of my back goes too far towards the front, which makes everything near the waist tilt forward. After doing some research and talking to a PT over telemedicine - I have some rehabilitation exercises that give me a little more strength, as measured by decrease in back pain. However, according to the fancy pants running trainer I had back when money was a thing I had coming in - there are also "adhesions" that form in the fascia when we hold a given muscle in the same state (too relaxed or contracted) for too long. This is the reason we get tight hamstrings from sitting too long in western-style chairs. So the next phase for me is to get more consistent with holding a good posture so that those front adhesions that need to be there are able to form.

Reason for mentioning this is that I have been paying a LOT of attention to making sure I use my core muscles in front to pull my pelvis back to level while standing. This is a LOT to me - I'm feeling the burn! :)

Well, the way I write here is how I think, minus about a million tangents that I end up deleting because I don't think anyone is so interested in my life story that they are going to spend 30 minutes on an internet forum reading little episodes. It's important for me to be anonymous-ish here, because I know that mental health discrimination in employment is a thing. It's supposed to be covered by the Americans With Disabilities Act as a disability, but that only kicks in after one has already started with an organization. Discrimination in hiring based on (an invisible) disability is not even frowned on AFAIK.

I also edit out some of the darker stuff, because I see it out in writing, and I think, "wait - is that true?" If not, then I delete it because integrity is in my top 3 core values. Inaccurate representations of my own experience seem to make perfect sense, until I translate into words. This is probably why I am so wordy.

Also - thanks for the good feedback. I am doing a smidge better. I can tell because I notice that I'm not chronically frustrated when it eases up a bit.

When I was doing the exercises intensively, I did them on Monday and Tuesday, took a break on Wednesday, and then did them again on Thursday and Friday, with another break on Saturday and Sunday.
I did them during the day, as a break after 1 hour of sedentary work. And in the evening after work.
Today, I don't exercise intensively. Just to keep my body toned. It's not difficult for me to do 10 pull-ups in one set.

Super nice! *agreed Love it! *shake @LumberJack

I hear you about that abdomen, it's a major thing yea for me too. It looks kinda uneven with the rest of my body, but getting there...
My goal will be to get below 80 kg (Height = 178 cm) - And evaluate things when I reach 85 kg first. But the actual goal is to keep working out, regardless of the number on the scale - it has a major positive effect on my mind.

I'll keep that in mind what you're saying about over-training, thanks! - I do not want injuries of course! =) I should do my stretches after the workout too.

And yea, the internet never sleeps and can be endlessly entertaining at times, ^__^

Yesterday I did 80 minutes of cardio on my hometrainer bike - indicator said: 600 calories were burned, but I didn't input my age, weight and such. I may get a fancier hometrainer bike in the future. ^___^ Today marks the day: It's a 30 day streak of working out @ home every day (since 16 June).

I have been forgetting to check in, but I did a metric f*ckton of shopping on Tuesday. Some housewares that I have noticed I would need to start cooking at home, and then to the grocery store for the things to cook, lol! I checked at the end of the day and my step count was just over 6500, compared to an average of 2200 over the past week. I was also working to resist the urge to impulse buy. I had to laugh at myself when I was in the electronics section looking at game consoles. Not until I have a paycheck! My phone is fine for my type of game and I have been too busy to even play my favorite for at least 7 months.

Also too busy to read books, which are far less expensive while being better for my mind and thoughts. Okay what does this have to do with exercise? The time management piece also is an obstacle to getting outdoors and I am an outdoorsy type of person. I have always preferred to be able to see the sky and do physical activity that doesn’t have any goals aside from the activity in itself. So I am starving my soul of something I pretty much need to continue functioning as a walking, talking human.
