The Metal Music Thread

This song was my introduction to metalcore. I heard it while my older brother and I were playing Burnout 3 in the early 2000s, when the soundtrack blasted it unexpectedly. We found it hilarious hearing the lead singer scream “I can see her—NOWWW!” as we drove well over 100 mph through oncoming traffic.

I thought I hated metalcore at first, lol. Basically, I thought I was cool because I preferred Norwegian and Finnish (melodic/symphonic) death metal and I said metalcore wasn't "real metal". More recently, I actually realized I freakin' adore metalcore! It's actually pretty awesome.

Metalcore is more mainstream, so it makes sense to attribute it to fake metal, but, as you can see, it’s mainstream for a reason. It was one of my favorite genres in my late teens, and it still is today.

Really, you don't like Bad Omens? I actually really like the high pitched singing. Or do you mean something different?
I don’t like that particular singing style in general, not necessarily the pitch. I’m struggling to explain, but maybe it’s the combination of the doleful tone and the vocal effects that are apparent during the chorus. In any case, I’m not trying to turn you off to the music.
