I think that, your Professor, for the most part was either speaking from a traditionalist points of view, or was in him himself; “traditional,” (meaning) / or - Old!
honestly the ideal is obviously to strik e a healthy balance. Like most things worthwhile in life; nature etc. so whatever that mix is for you, is what s right—not any sort of idealized standard or norm (expectation) set forth by society & all that // Jazz. .
So what s right for you, may not be right for me & vice versa.
For starters, we may each have different strengths to begin with in some, one or more of each of those individual categories you’ve disclosed. So what would make sense and be logical is to focus our energies on the ones that matter to us most, that we find to be weak in , or have less than what we’d like — where we’d like to be.
