Physical pain severity scale

i had a very high pain day. at least it's finally coming down. because of the exhaustion and everything when my wife was sick it raised my pain level a lot. it seems to be coming down a little on average but i may have to deal with it for a few more weeks.

if it wasn't for my kids i don't know if i could make it right now. i have opioid pain meds ( not enough ) as well as a tens unit, mmj salve and mmj candy which is expensive. 1 of my 3 kids makes sure i don't run out and doesn't even accept money half of the time. another child bought me 3 1000 mg bars last month and 4 this month which costs $50 each plus three 200 mg gummies pack of 10 that are 20g each at $30 each pack. i still have relatively high pain levels but could not afford this much. i am so fortunate to have great kids

i'm up early and my pain is relatively low. i'm at a 4 so far so very happy

i'm sorry that is your reality. my pain isn't as severe, i live in the 5 range with a spike every night between 7 and 10 but only for an hour or two usually and once in a while longer. so i know how much pain can affect a persons life. the only advice is to do and try anything, that's legal of course and work with your doctor. it doesn't hurt to try new things and do research on the internet about your condition, i know i have worked with my doctor and we tried some thigs that i found, the other piece of advice is try to live beyond your pain. try to be as active as possible. if you ever want to talk feel free to use my inbox, I understand chronic pain

I’ve tried everything non surgical. I don’t want surgery. I’m trying a pain block on Friday and pretty nervous.

i hope it works for you. i won't replace my knees because surgery would be my last resort also. whatever you have to do i hope you can lower the pain

Horrible pain tonight level 7. Trying to resist my extra pain meds as they interfere with my sleep.

i'm so sorry to hear this. in my situation i can't sleep if pain is 6 or higher. this means treating my pain aggressively so i can sleep. if you want we can talk about dealing with pain in my inbox

i have been having a harder time dealing with pain the last few weeks. my wife thinks the stress ( having to move ) is one of the reasons and she could be right. but no matter how long it takes and what i have to do the pain always goes down lol

It's somewhere in the middle, but more or less a constant thing that keeps me from sleeping well and doing things.

going through a pain spike right now. working on lowering it. since they seriously reduced my pain meds it's hard to make up the difference. it's a little of this and a little of that lol.

Between 2-5, it is thankfully not “constant” basically just when I apply the cream for it (have to do that 4 times a day and each time I have to do it is tiring) but at least there isn’t blood from it anymore like there was for at least a day or 2 after (it always worries me a lot when there’s blood) wish I knew for sure “what” made it happen, whatever thing it was I ate like omfg I’ll do my best to never eat it again but I just don’t know.

I’m glad I found this thread, I feel deep compassion for all those dealing with pain (whether chronic or intermittent) but also comforted to know I’m not “alone” in dealing with physical pain. It really can mess with you psychologically a bit, just want it to not be “on my mind” so much, and that scale definitely addresses how it does that, which I deeply appreciate for sure.
