In a mall, you'll deal with a lot of foot traffic, shoplifters, and customer service issues. It's usually more fast-paced and involves interacting with the public frequently. Hospitals often have stricter protocols and may involve dealing with more emergencies. Offices tend to be quieter, focusing on monitoring and access control.
Depends on the mall most security guards just stand in one place in mall and move around if their is only a problem.

Hello it was alright the first four days until my company got raided because the owner of my company was involved in fraud scandal so me and other security guards got laid off and the company shut down but I got paid at least. I have to look for another security guard job likely a reputable company. There is lot of corruption in the security guard industry in my province regarding fraud and sex crimes scandal. There was an owner of a security guard company charged with possession of child porn and his company worked at hospitals. But at least I still have my sign holder jobs as a second job and snow shoveling in the winters.
Goodness! It never rains but pours. You're showing so much resilience getting yourself up and trying again.

That's really unfair. Hopefully another company will hire you soon. I wonder if you could ask the mall where you worked if there is another company that they work with that you could apply to.

Thank you and that’s a great idea I might ask the mall. It’s ironic that lot of company owners are getting involved in scandals like fraud and sex then the companies usually the small ones that are not franchisees get shut down. The only reason I got a security guard license was a friend of my dads convinced me to get a security guard license back in December of 2023 because he thought it would be a great full time stable job for me with anxiety and depression issues since you just patrol the building and stand or walk around most of the time since my dad’s friend work at an office where there is a security guard.

I did security for a while. I worked in a call centre (signing visitors in and out, giving employees badges they forgot for the day, checking the server room, etc) as well as a hospital (either very boring walking around checking doors or very feisty with people fighting and going crazy). I moved on from that after a couple years to prison officer but it wasn't the worst job, honestly. Diligence and strong ability to follow rules and see small details are great skills to have in any job but esp for this one. I hope you find something else soon.

Been friendly with a fair few in my life working in warehouse and rideshare services and such...it really depends on the contract. I have seen places all but Pat you down for stuff and be super picky about random shit and do paperwork and some who are basically just around to call the cops if something wild happens.

The best ones were if they were doing more then just walking around sort of randomly were the ones with really good just people skills and seeing things from other people's perspective. The job itself ain't hard but getting good at the soft skills stuff just is a good preventative from having a rough day.

This is what I found. If I were you, make a kind of schedule ehat to do and check when and have open eyes. Congrats by the way.
