What is a caring thought you have had or nice thing you have done for yourself this week?

I do so many nice things for myself all the time. :D Today I bought A LOT of art supplies, and cleaned the dining table with the hubby to change it into an "art studio", or art desk. I'm so excited to have more space to paint and not having to clean everything every evening!

I also listened (and sang) to my favourite band in the car.

The caring thought... I looked into my eyes today and actually noticed their colour and thought it was fairly pretty. lol I also don't mind my picture on my residence permit I got today (huge deal for me).

This might sound weird
When I was in the hospital one nice nurse offered a flannel sheet that they keep warm. I woke up to my son once again having the windows cracked open and it's getting to freezing overnight. So I have my own washer and dryer here. I've been putting my sleeping bag and bathrobed in the dryer for a few minutes, and one of those rice bags in the microwave and stick it near my feet, to crawl back into bed for a bit to stay warm
I can understand that and it doesn't get too cold here typically but those see how long before turning on the heat Fall temps do have me glad for the mattress warmer I have. Turn it on and lay a good wool blanket or two on it for a bit of toastiness.

I learned years ago to take a handtowel or small towel and then wet it lightly or to a medium degree and put it in the microwave for a VERY short period time, it will get hot fast. And then wrap it in a chux pad or put in a baggie. Or not. We used to do this for laboring moms as a homemade heating pad for their back pain. It was before there were blanket warmers in the medical units.
I still do it for myself for a sore area like knee or shoulder or neck pain or to warm my feet or hands.

I got my hair done this morning. I had an appointment for Friday but stopped in when driving by the shop to see if she had an opening and there had been a cancellation so Yay!
The other caring for myself is that I actually believed the several people I came in contact with today when they told me that they loved me, that I am wonderful.
That sounds wonderful. I’ll usually discount any compliment I get. If it’s only one person, they might be trying to cheer me up, or are just being polite.

When I hear the same thing from multiple peers in different contexts, I sort of feel like the universe is trying to get through to me.

I'm a car singer too.
I hope the new art area is still working well for you.

went to church today. After the sermon I reflected how the church and church people cared for me as well as a God, and that unconditional love or like that the people give me is a constant reminder I am loved or at least liked and that knowledge makes me accept myself more. Sounds stupid but it has pulled me out of depression many a time.

Caring thought to myself - That I’m important, how I feel matters and that it’s important that I stay as positive and hopeful about things as I can, no matter how hopeless things might feel.

Nice thing I’ve done for myself this week - Made myself do some walking for the last 4 days in a row even though my motivation level was so low (it is usually pretty low and has been since I was a kid), had a foot soak with some epsom salt, had some baths, drank tea to try to stay calm, and some other things too :)

Had my hair done... color my roots every 5-6 weeks... takes 20 years off my looks. Been greying since i was 16 Thanks to my Sicilian genetics. It's one of the only indulgent i allow myself. That and putting color on my nails. (however i do that myself)
