I'm scared. In (medical) hospital

I had to ring for an ambulance this morning as I had weakness in my arm and a tingling sensation in my hand. I have seen two neurologists. I have been here since 5:30 in the morning. I had a CT scan and MRI. I've never had physical problems before. That makes it even the more frightening.
I am so sorry to hear this. But it sounds like you are getting the tests you need. Hopefully they will provide answers and lead to successful treatments. Stay strong.

I hope to god it's not serious, but I'm glad you're getting help. I'm sorry though that you've been there so long, hospitals suck.

Keep us posted, yeah?

Hi @Gonz. I had another TIA. I am petrified I'm going to have a severe stroke. Two TIA events in just a few days is not good. The nuerologists have put me on a couple of new meds. Also, I have to talk with my psychiatrist about my anti-psychotic as it amplifies my risk of stroke. There are safer alternatives. Thanks @Gonz.

Thanks @seabird. The hugs do help. I am a big guy, even when I'm not overweight. I've been called a gentle giant. I have now had two TIA events in a couple of days, so I'm petrified atm. Something funny happened, though. In one of the pages of my discharge notes is my name and age. Next to my age is a question mark :D . I've got babyface going on bigtime. Anyway, I found something to chuckle about today :)

Was it the same as the last one?

I'm at a point in my life finally, that I want to live, and now I may not live much longer.
I believe your recovery has started Pebble mouse.

Perhaps it's part of my personality but I'd like to say a afew choice words to the person who perscribed the meds which increased your risk for stroke, for a start why didn't they try the less risky meds. Enough bellicose words though. I'm glad your youthful looks gave you a smile and a chuckle. : )

It seems I have had an allergic reaction to the clopidogrel I was prescribed to stop another, potentially worse stroke. I have a severe rash on my upper body (not including face). I saw a GP today, and he said to stop taking it. In my mind, I would rather be alive with a rash than dead without a rash. So I'm going to continue taking it until I see a neurologist. In the meantime, I will start on an antihistamine.

I cannot believe this crap.

I like your thinking, that makes perfect sense. Seems a bit daft your GP didn't think the same.

Hi Pebble mouse

There is a serious reason for your GP to tell you to discontinue Plavix (clopidogrel) as it can cause a rash that develops into Stevens-Johnson's syndrome. Believe me when I say you do not want to risk that! Ask for another antiplatelet med as there are other options available. I understand your wish for peace of mind, but I would caution you NOT to continue taking it.

Wishing you all the best in recovery *hug
