One Thing to be Grateful for Each Day

Just now I was trying to scoop some ice cream. Lost control of the scoop at exactly the right moment for the scoop and the ice cream to end up airborne. They were together in time, but separated in space. My scoop of ice cream landed directly in my target bowl for this mission. Sometimes, not everything goes wrong, lol. :)

Those are my second favorite fruit. I especially like the small ones that are more sweet, but harder to tell when ripe. They are called honey mangoes in the USA, but in Thailand, they were the only mangoes I saw around. You probably already know, but they have a traditional dessert consisting of sticky rice, mango slices, and coconut milk syrup-y type sauce. It is amazing and people in Bangkok will line up for a block or so for the best street vendors to get it.

As for me, I got really good at peeling mangoes and separating the stones. Of course my brilliant brain wants to get every last bit of fruit so I would chew on the edge of the stone to make sure nothing is missed. It’s a bit gruesome visually, so I would only do that in private, lol 😆

I don’t recommend that last part, unless you have a lot of dental floss nearby! At least I was getting some fiber (cellulose counts a fiber, right?).

I’m thankful for a cloudy day today. It has been an oppressive heat wave for two weeks plus, with the sun just beating down intensely day after day. Being able to look out my window without putting on sunglasses is kind of neat. Also the temperature is more manageable.

So reflecting on that points me to being thankful for my 14 years or so living in the desert. Sustained extreme heat requires a lifestyle adjustment during the summer, and since I already have that strategy mastered, I am handling it better than I would have expected.

You’re welcome. Incidentally the scooping utensil fell to the floor, but at least no ice cream was lost. Spilled ice cream is not an easy mess to clean up. Especially not after I’ve taken my nighttime meds and am nodding off while standing up…
one of the reasons i miss having a dog, no food had a chance once it hit the floor lol

As far as can tell I am off from having to go in to work week in and week out and back to my typical routine of three days at home and two at the office. I am mostly pleased my boss is doing much better with her health. With both of us onsite we both can get away for lunch out and me being in before 7:00 am means I get off and can get around doing errands with more time available. I also have more free time on weekends not having to spend a good portion of the time fixin' things for dinner at work.

Too lol, I gnaw the last juicy bits off the seed, when I am alone in the house and no one sees me end up with it all over and with my teeth full of tiny fibers. If I didn't have dental floss I wouldn't do it either - seriously insande sensory overload.
Love your story, thanks LumberJack.
