Lovely. Not the dusty, dry Texas that comes to my mind when I think of the state.

The Jacarandas are blooming right now and it’s a reminder how beautiful the world can be.

Two things:

First is I love my dog so much and I hope she knows about even a fraction of it.

Second thing, is I thought my trip was almost over but then I saw a clock and realized it’s about 4 hours earlier than I thought it was.

Thirdly, I should watch From Dusk Til Dawn. I just thought of that, but it’s true.

That and Sassy the Sasquatch.

I remember my stepfather describing the same. Like most from much of the United States when he joined the Army in 1943 right after finishing high school most basic training was in the South and how behind New York state so many small towns were without having electricity or indoor plumbing yet, and he was sent to Texas for part of the training and he thought it was all desert from watching westerns through the 1930s and 40s where that was much of what was depicted.

I lay on my bed and played a relaxation hypnosis recording. I walked to the cheaper supermarket and bought some soya milk and chocolate. I cooked properly instead of just shoving crap in the air fryer - about time that novelty wore off! Had pasta with sweetcorn, peppers, pesto, tomatoes and textured soya protein chunks. I will try to get some sleep but my body is waking me up stupid early again the last few days.
