i would love a large self cleaning house in space somewhere close to Uranus!
I must have a sense of humor more appropriate to 10 y/o Jack as opposed to my present self.

When you mentioned the 8th planet, I was instantly ready to take this in an entirely different direction…

TBF, I think it is a side effect of testosterone that what we find funny stops maturing so very early.

It's alright @Reality. I think we've all made at least one post where we lost track of the scope and tone of the thread. Sometimes our minds run away with our train of thought. It's especially understandable if you're that sleep deprived, cos it's just impressive you're even that coherent. *hug10
thank you, I had the post deleted. At least I've slept, all is ok, and that's about it

Another look at Heaven.

Going Home

When time comes, for my soul to fly
no need to grieve, I will not roam,
we shall meet again, in the bye,
not to worry, I’m going home

(chorus)
Going Home, going Home
I’ve done my very best
Now time for me to rest.
Leaving this world of care
Going up to Heaven fair
Going home, going home.

There will be a golden light,
filled with love, compassionate love.
Its divine blessing hugs you tight,
leaving no doubt you’re part thereof.

Loved ones and friends will greet us there
What a reunion that will be
So much good news for us to share
A grand homecoming jubilee.

(chorus)
Going Home, going Home
I’ve done my very best
Now time for me to rest.
Leaving this world of care
Going up to Heaven fair
Going home, going home.

*rofli actually had that in mind when i stated that. It is a very different plannet... and it's also my "birth planet". Which is pretty fitting i might add.

Thanks for the kind words, and all the likes. Made me feel good. I have more lyrics but not on Heaven. Would anyone like to see them on another thread?
I would love to see them. I tried to find out more about these lyrics on the Internet, but could not find them. Did you write them yourself?
Like you, I am among the old (73). So am much closer to heading to heaven than many on SF.

There was a popular TV show in the early 2000s. I won't say the name of it and spoil it. I always felt that most people misinterpret the ending of the show as meaning all the characters died. My interpretation was that Heaven was portrayed as a place where the concept of time doesn't exist. Therefore your loved ones who have passed are there and your loved ones who haven't passed yet are there too. I always liked that concept of Heaven.

My personal idea of Heaven is a place where a kpop festival is going on 24/7. But I can see how someone who doesn't like that genre might see that as Hell. After all if I were forced to live in a Heaven where I had to listen to country 24/7 I'd probably do the thing which is the subject of this website. But I guess I'd already be dead and I'm not sure where I would go after that.

Growing up in church as a child I always wondered if there's art in Heaven. like movies, music, paintings, etc. Because if there isn't what exactly is the point? I always imagined that if there was music in Heaven it probably sounds a lot like Enya.

Yes, I write all my lyrics. I have also written lyrics for other people. I have a site with a few lyrics on it. Not really much on the Internet. I will post some lyrics on the Members Contributions forum soon.

I was raised by Christians for a large chunk of my life and even though I don't consider myself religious anymore I still feel like their idea of the afterlife has an (albeit small) chance of being real.
But the ideal situation for me would be just nothing. My mind gets deleted from existence. I want the whole "soul" shtick to just be a one time thing exclusive to earth that ends along with my life.

That's partly because of the existential dread I get from the idea of existing for eternity and because I'm not too fond of existing in general. I know I could say something like "I wanna be in eternal bliss forever" but I don't want that. Idk if you can empathize with this, but the feeling wouldn't be "real" and I don't like this idea.

After your post, I realized what I want my heaven to be like: everyone loves me and I love everyone.
I hope I won't forget what I want by tomorrow :)
