I have a phobia of cats. Like when I see a cat on sidewalk I cross the road to go on the other sidewalk away from cat. Once at one of my cousins house I saw a cat and I got away from it and yelled dad and someone opened the door where the cat went outside.

Have you ever tried meowing at one?

I know another person who also has a cat phobia, but she had a bad experience being scratched by a cat when she was young. I wonder if maybe you had a bad experience previously? If so, you're welcome to talk about it, but I also understand if you don't want to talk about it.

I saw a cat chase a squirrel and cat eyes scare me.

It's worth noting that cats aren't truly domesticated as dogs are. This might have some bearing on your attitude towards them, particularly in comparison to dogs.

I personally love both just the same.

Well, one of the treatments against phobias is controlled exposure.

I have some level of social anxiety (not phobia) and what made me change a little is trying to talk more to people.

But I still fear talking to complete strangers in random places or initiating some conversation.

Maybe trying to exposure yourself slowly to your phobia can help you.
