Venting Division

I think this is truly one of the most serious threats to our society that's currently happening
And I think it's frigthening to witness
It's only been amplified by social media and news media
It wasn't this extreme when I grew up
It feels like there's many people close to wanting to tear the other "team" apart.
Both sides getting more and more extreme
As someone who is probably on the middle politically, I've experienced both sides getting angry at me and quickly putting me in a box, based on one comment
It can also worry me to speak on certain things sometimes, because then maybe certain people will instantly think they know everything about my views and not like me, because if a comment don't favor their "team" ... Then obviously I must be on the other "team"
And it can be frustrating
But I think it's also important to remember that it's probably a much smaller percentage of people than it appears to be
But that group of people is just much louder
Most people probably agree on much more than they think
But it's getting harder and harder to realize that
They just live their life, and is not on social media all day or in the news
They don't care about all these controversial topics, but just want to live a safe and peaceful life
I think it's important to remind ourselves of this

I guess I just wanted to vent

I dont know if you have watched the 2007 movie the Mist by Stephen King. There is a funny line, that comes to mind when reading your post @CrashBandicoot and it goes like this:

"Put more than two of us in a room (human beings), we pick sides and start dreaming up reasons to kill one another. Why do you think we invented politics and religion?"

For some reason people love picking sides, its very difficult these days to sit in the middle, I think that just shows how extreme things are getting in the world.
