trouble showering

#1
i shower like once a month now, ever since i switched to online school i have no reason to go out. none of my irl friends ever tried to contact me when i suddenly left public school. i even cancel my doctor and therapy appointments because i dont want to shower. i know how stinky i am, i know how greasy my hair is. my mom does this too but she actually makes an effort to not stink. i just sit in my room and do nothing all day. why is it so damn hard to shower?! i do get really dizzy when i shower, but the feeling i get after makes up for it. my hair gets reeeaaalllyyy fluffy, i smell like flowers and strawberries, my skin gets so soft, and i always feel so pretty. i dont understand why its so difficult.

wishes you well

Not showering can be a symptom of depression. You might want to discuss this with a mental health professional. The dizziness is a concern as well although it may be something mild like anxiety.

One thing I do to make myself shower is I put clean towels in the bathroom, lay out clean clothes, and promise myself a treat after showering. I've heard of other people setting a timer.

Also you can shower at any time of the day - doesn't have to be morning. i usually shower in the evening before dinner. Also you don't need to shower every single day - see doctors on YouTube discussing this. Every few days is fine.

Sorry that you're going through this.
I agree with @Lady Wolfshead about taking showers in the afternoon or evening, that might make it easier for you. If you have a hand held shower head, you can wash parts one-by-one, leaving your hair last. If you put your head down while you wash your hair, you won't have to spray yourself with as much water. This might be a more comfortable way to do things.

I also agree that you don't necessarily have to shower every day.

A lot of soaps and shampoos have chemicals in them. Maybe you'd feel better about using something different. Right now I'm using a castille soap bar (also as shampoo).
