Hello,
Yes the title is correct I am addicted to these videos
I can't explain this search and I know it's wrong but I would like to describe it here

Every day when I have nothing to do or I feel depressed I watch some gore videos and then I feel even more depressed I don't know how it all started maybe I thought it was “cool” or something I don't know anyway I've been watching this shit for more than 4 years and I just can't get away from it

Do you know what keeps drawing you to it even though you know it makes things worse?

Have you ever made a deliberate effort to avoid those videos?

I wonder if there's even some technical solution that would make the videos inaccessible to you.

Hopefully you could replace the gore videos with some more positive activity.

Heya, I've been in this position! Was completely hooked. I obviously won't share any site names or what I looked at (for safety of others) but it was definitely linked to when I had low mood etc. I can't describe it, but it felt like it made me feel better when in reality it obviously made me worse.

I don't know specifically what got me over it, but I think May is likely correct with the advice of replacing them. If you feel like you're going to search again, take a breath, come here and talk etc. Lean on your community and hopefully in time the habit will break.

All I can say is that I have struggled with a similar problem. It wasn’t gore, exactly, but it is something that has burned certain images into my mind. I understand the compulsion, the need to go to a harmful habit when feeling bad, and the unsuccessful attempts to stop.

I believe internet addiction is a real thing. It’s not a substance, but it messes with your brain chemistry in the same way, meaning the same biological process behind substance addiction is also at play in process addictions.

I am sensing a strong desire to stop from your OP. That’s a good thing. For me, I had to learn how to stop beating myself up with shame before I was able make any progress.
