Gift giving

Im feeling quite isolated this evening and wanted to come up with something positive to post on the forum.

So I was thinking of a fun question, in relation to the idea of gift giving. I think its always nice to give.

What famous persons birthday party would you go to and why?, they could be a historical figure, movie star ect, living or not.
Why would you be at their birthday party and what gift would you bring them? Max 50 dollar budget.

I would be at the actor Gene Wilders birthday party, as I think that would be really fun, I've always loved the films he's made, especially 'hear no evil, see no evil with Richard Pryor. Id bring him a silly jumper.

Sorry you are feeling isolated, this is a sweet idea.

I think it would be Stephen King as I've spent so much time in his head reading his books over the years. I'd get him one of those spooky moneybox things where a skeleton or something grabs the coins and pulls them in (I had one like it as a kid and was fascinated, this skeletal hand came out and grabbed the coins) πŸ˜‚ But a silly jumper could work as well. 😊

You read enough of his books and it feels like you know him. Never met him, but he feels like a real person in ways other authors don’t. I promise I’m not a crazy stalker who thinks I actually know him.

Neat idea for a thread @Inastorm, and hopefully all of us showing up here and mouthing off about our silly thoughts helps you feel less isolated. *hug

I'd probably want to go to Bryan Cranston's birthday, because he seems like a genuinely funny, decent bloke.
As for what gift i'd get him, i'm honestly not sure, even after reflecting on my answer for hours, because despite how gift-giving gets treated as the default superior form of emotional expression, it's not the way i tend to express things.

So i'll go with a decent, reasonably-priced bottle of whisky as my answer.
Bryan Cranston probably drinks much better whisky if he drinks it, but it's supposed to be the thought that counts.

Jules Verne for me, mainly because he is one of my favorite writers and I have always been fascinated by his knowledge of sciences and how much of what he wrote came to pass in one form or another and more so because of the technology when he wrote. Fifty dollars, I would probably take him out catting around town for whatever he wanted to do. It may be interesting to view. LOL

I would go to baseball Hall of Fame pitcher Nolan Ryan's birthday. He is a role model a player l emulate growing up and an inspiration. Watching him pitch and his work ethic always motivated me to work hard and be the best player I could be. The birthday guests would be many of baseball greatest players to ever play the game. He lives in Texas has three ranches and is a cattle rancher. The gift I would buy would be a cowboy hat. I would ask Nolan Ryan and other Hall of Fame baseball players for there signature.

Okay that's very interesting!
Hmm I would attend Shams of Tabriz 's birthday party. He isn't well known I guess or he is , depends. If you don't know him then lemme just give you a little brief intro of him , he inspired Rumi (the poet) he was a mystic figure and a very intelligent man. I would be in his birthday party because I admire him a lot and I would consider myself extremely lucky to be able to meet him in person. He fascinates me with his thoughts and ideas and the persona he carries. I would brought him a small bouquet of real lilies , some handmade letters / cards and a shawl (it's like a thick warm long scarf) that I would handpaint. So yea
