Any interesting dreams?

I wasn't sure where to put this thread so I chose The Coffee House. I would like this to be a thread where we share interesting dreams we've had.

Recently I had a dream I was a butterfly. Apparently this represents some kind of transformation or change in one's life.

That is a really great dream JDot.

I have a problem wih nightmares, but, thankfully also remember regular dreams. I will not add any nightmares to the thread.

I was an amphibious human-like creature. As guardian of a reef with giant coral, I monitored the normal/bad humans who came into the region to cut down and take trees to the surface.

Sounds real deep. Dreams are interesting. It's okay to share nightmares if you want. But if you don't, I understand that too. For a while I had a recurring nightmare that people were trying to break into my home. I think the reason I had those dreams was due to a movie I watched.

Mine is being back to my A-Levels, and I have only done revision for one subject, so I am determined to cowardly bow-out of the whole thing and leave the school, prematurely, which is acceptable here, at that level.

I did leave education at that level, and I think it's a sign that nothing has satisfactorily been achieved since.

I've had dreams where I'm back at school and I've completely forgotten about a class. I read a little bit of this webpage you may find interesting. https://www.dreams.co.uk/sleep-matt... Behind School Dreams,re studying for an exam.

This touches on so many things I've talked about with friends and my kids Bergerac. I hope it is okay to respond. Maybe - especially as we become considered grown-ups, we get aware of how society in general is critical of ourselves. What I mean is, society can imply that we, for whatever reason(s) are denied a kind of wholesome validity, if that makes sense. But we deserve and are in fact vital, worthy and whole.

Oh yes, I quite agree on that point, and I can relate to it. I am not where society expects me to be, and at this point in time, as well. I failed at things, or didn't pursue them, in terms of career, that my peers did. I am trapped in a cycle, that I failed to break free from when given the opportunity. But am starting again, and fighting for the same career and position.
There are other elements to it, as well, in my case. It was kind of the breakdown that saw me blocked for a while. All centred around that year and circumstances.

Thanks so much for replying and reinforcing that perspective. it's great to have other people's insights. appreciate it. *hug

I mainly only remember nightmares.
But I did have a dream recently that made me laugh..

I had a lover who was an astronaut and had been sent to live on a space station on the moon. He was all alone there so asked if I could join him. They were happy for me to go but wouldn't let me bring my dog so I had to sneak him onto the rocket in my suitcase *hysterical

It's funny you say that because I had a dream that made me laugh recently. In my dream, I ran into Steve Martin at some weird casino. He was playing some game. I kept asking him to teach me how to play and he wouldn't do it. Not sure why that made me laugh. For some reason I found that quite funny.

Wouldn't that turn the suitcase into a doggy bag? :) Not much interesting with my dreams. I do tend to have sci fi type end of the world dreams. Aliens coming out of clouds at night and zapping everything with lasers and such. My reactions can be the more interesting bit with how I react. One that happens somewhat regularly is me out on the patio and off in the distance seeing nukes striking and mushroom clouds rising. Me being...well, me I don't think oh shit, it's a nuke. I am wondering what the hell is off in that direction worth blasting?

My dreams are pretty bizarre and nonsensical....I've had the similar "stress" dream of having been at school all semester and not having done a single assignment.

I've had a fair number of lucid dreams as well. I feel like I always squander them on doing stupid things like flying lol..

I don't really have nightmares anymore, or even bad dreams, per se. Stress dreams occasionally, but I can't remember the last time I had a dream that made me bolt awake with my heart pounding, afraid to go back to sleep.

Last night I dreamed that the kpop group Black Pink and I were superheroes trying to fight some great evil. And Robert Downey Jr. was in my dream. I told him he should become Iron Man. He said "dude I'm just an actor."

For years now I've occasionally dreamed I was back at university and there's always been something not quite right: I couldn't find my dorm room and the place was remodeled, or the campus buildings I knew were gone and replaced by perplexing new buildings, or I could see the campus from a distance but somehow couldn't find my way there......or variations on that kind of theme.

But this time it was another and better situation: I was my current age (71); I was "off the hook" as to prepping for a career......I was there for my own edification as a hobby and the off campus houses were really interesting and artsy craftsy and had beautiful, landscaped yards and gardens. So I'm walking past one of these houses and a hippy type lady (my own age) calls out to me like she knows me and gives me a gift, saying this is specially just for me..........it's a jar of artist type paint brushes. In real life I don't paint, but I think the symbolism of being given tools for creativity is somehow special. It was a good dream.

I had a real funny dream last night. I dreamed I got into a conversation with the actor Nick Offerman. He told me he was going to prison for the rest of his life. I said "What did you do?" He said it was due to an overdue library book. I woke up laughing at how silly my dream was.
