I tried talking to a girl

Before school ended, there was this classmate of mine who sometimes wore a sundress and tied her hair. God, she looked so beautiful. I had already talked to her once before and even complimented her dress before. But this time, as she walked right in front of me, I tried calling her name and she ignored me, her friends also started to giggle at me. Why do girls have to make everything worse by giggling like that?

Because they feel as confused and awkward and embarassed as you do. They don't know what to do with all this beauty and sexual attractiveness that was foisted on them only fairly recently. They don't know how it works and they don't know how to handle it. They may look cool and beautiful and like they've got it all together on the outside, but most of them are feeling pretty bewildered, and often very uncomfortable, on the inside. So, when they feel awkward and embarassed, girls giggle, while boys get angry. That's a generalisation of course. I well remember one occassion, many years ago, when I showed an interest in a boy and his mates all started sniggering together. Ouch! You can believe I didn't let myself get in that situation again.

Oh, that makes sense.

It was very rude of her and her friends to do that. I'm sorry this happened.

It's good to learn a little about a boy/girl before you approach them. Sometimes the book cover can be misleading if you get what I mean. When I was in high school I was obsessed with this girl. I said and did some very stupid things because of it. Now that I look back on it she wasn't a particularly good person. She also wasn't as attractive as maybe I thought she was. Since high school I've "been with" much more attractive women. When it comes to getting to know people I always say "If it smells like shit it probably is shit." I'm sure this girl is probably the most beautiful person you've seen in your life so far. But I promise she's not the most attractive person you will ever see in your life. In fact since we're on SF I should mention that this is one of my reasons to stay alive. Because maybe I haven't seen or met the most beautiful person I will see in my life.
