Heart problem

On May 24th, I had a heart attack, and on May 28th, I had a four-way bypass. After two weeks in the hospital, I spent another 5 weeks in a nursing home. I got home on July 3rd. It's been quite an experience. I'm about 7 weeks post-op op and I'm told the healing for the sternum is 12 weeks. So I'm behaving myself and doing what the doctors tell me to do, and I'm taking all my medications.

It's been 30 years since my last suicide attempt. I've come a long way in so many ways. I can honestly say I'm happy to be alive.

I went through almost the same thing. Only my operation was a triple bypass. I was 49 then and I spent some time in a nursing home afterwards. A year later I got a pacemaker, But don't be discouraged you still have a life to live. It has been about 35 years since my heart attack and I am still going. Love

@Chargette I'm sorry you had a heart attack. You're a survivor. ❤️ Best wishes and healthy recovery to you. 🪴 I bet it feels nice to be back at home. I'm glad you wrote about it here. Do you have some plans for autumn or when the sternum is healed up?

@Chargette My brother had open heart surgery 2 or 3 years ago. He was 73. He came through it just fine and is doing very well. They work miracles with surgery these days. Glad you are improving and am confident you will continue to do so.

Sad news about the heart attack. I hope that you heal up quickly and completely and will be feeling and doing much better soon.
