Is suicide selfish/egoistic?

Is there anyone else you could speak to in real life about your feelings? When someone is feeling suicidal or having thoughts about it, no offense, but it's not the time to worry about if it's egotistical. Please get help. You're not alone when you're here. Many of us understand.

I think it depends on the circumstances. Some commit suicide by putting themselves in harms way for the love of another. Knowing they will die in the process.

The main thing about suicide is it does not change anything. You take your self, your feelings, your thoughts with you. Whether you work through them in the Spirit World, or in the Physical World is your choice.

It is a process of learning your troubles are not "out there" but are within yourself. Knowledge and understanding are needed here.

I think its probably more self centred than selfish, but I also think that when you're in the grip of something so painful/exhausting/relentless/etc that you try to die, there isn't very much room to centre someone else and that fact doesn't make a person bad or selfish.

Sounds like your trying to get rid of a safety factor. I won't commit suicide because my family will be sad and it will be selfish.

I've known a few people who have committed suicide and I don't think the first thing you think of is their selfish for doing it, but it does have consequences for those around them, and a chain of events happen. Suicide is very different than death by natural causes, as people may be in trauma and think could I have helped, what could I have done. It may cause all kinds of emotions for the left over, anger, sadness etc.

People who commit suicide are not selfish, they are in so much pain, that they think of their own pain first, this is natural. I'd suggest you get yourself some physical help. Take care and keep going, a lot of people on the forum are in the same position and will offer support where they can.
