I'm sorry this happened. There may be some resources that could help.
www.hotpeachpages.net has a world-wide directory of domestic violence and abuse resources. Many of those resources are geared toward violence in the context of a relationship, but if they can't help directly, they should be able to refer you on to services.
211
211 is available in the US and Canada. They could be able to refer you to counseling and other services. You can call 211, and you can also visit the websites
www.211.org (US) or
www.211.ca (Canada).
Women's Aid deals with both domestic violence and sexual violence in the UK. The services there seem to be very good.

Acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine might help with the nightmares. This link has more info:
Chinese Herbal Medicine and Acupuncture, World's Second Largest Medical System
Also, members here have said that a drug called prazosin can help with nightmares. It's primarily a blood pressure medication and its use for treating nightmares is off-label, so not all doctors will prescribe it. Some members here swear by it though.
There may also be some antidepressants that can help with nightmares.
I hope something can help Sophie
