Finding employment

Hi, everyone. I'm struggling to find employment. I'm really so unmotivated. I'm not good at job searching, at least not any more where everything is AI-driven and digital. I've gotten work in the past by word-of-mouth or kind of more old-fashioned submit-your-resume-to-HR stuff. But I'm lost today.

I'm also finding that every job board immediately suspends my account when I try to verify my identity, and the reason ends up being that I changed my name and sex legally and they don't think I'm me.

On top of that, I find that the work I'm qualified to do just all seems so evil. I'm an out of work software engineer. I really don't want to work in financial technology. And applying to jobs knowing some huge portion of them are probably ghost jobs anyway.

I'm willing to work. I'm willing to work hard. How the hell do I find the motivation to keep slogging away at these jobs? I feel so screwed.

Looking for employment can be exhausting.

I will go out on a limb and say that you can definitely revert to old ways. Look the company up online and see the job listings and apply via HR email if they provide that information.

Have your resume and a cover letter on pdf for easy attachment or upload.

You are very marketable in your field so having that leverage along with confidence is key.

I don’t know what software engineering entails but if you write code or whatever maybe market yourself in person at companies that could benefit from your services.

Set small goals like one or two leads a day or max 5 leads per week. That way you’re not overwhelmed with the processes.

Job posting sites like indeed or LinkedIn doesn’t require private personal information so use those instead. The job posting sites should be asking for SSN or ID info.

YouTube has content creators who posts about various job positions so maybe search for software engineer work from home jobs.

I wish you the best in your search for gainful employment.

Remember that YOU are an asset!!!!
