Any caregivers here?

#1
To any caregivers here, may I just say that caregiving is one of the toughest, most selfless things anyone can do, and it takes a huge emotional and physical toll. I know it’s been really hard for me too — it can feel overwhelming and exhausting. But please remember it doesn’t mean we’re failing; it just shows how much we care. You’re doing something incredibly important. Don’t forget to take a moment for yourself when you can. You’re not alone in this.

I used to be a care giver. They supported me too. We ended up co dependent on each other. They left me, where I am dealing with different loses, my caring role, loss of them, my own support. It's tough when your a care giver as you put so much into that role. When it ended, I think its extremely difficult to left go in anyway, as you cared about them so strongly, much more so than in a relationship where neither of you are unwell. You end up deeply attached when you had spent the time with them concerned, worried, sad for them, wanting to help and support them, this was a long time (26ish years of this). It's sad, but the splitting up of a caregiving relationship is one that is rarely spoken about.
