Morning dred

#2
I'm sorry this is happening.

In principle you could go to a doctor, but as far as I know there aren't any treatments that would be provided that would be specific to feeling bad in the early morning. You might be prescribed antidepressants or other medication.

You might want to try traditional Chinese herbal medicine or acupuncture (links are to pages on SF):

Are you feeling this within a particular window of time, such as 4am-7am, or do you wake up at many different times, and always feel bad?

Ive had similar dread for quite many years in the past, luckily recently it has faded away a lot.

I have a few things that worked for me:
- Put everything ready for the morning before you go to bed. Pack your bag, prepeare your lunch, set all your tomorrow's clothes somewhere nearby, etc.
- Get up a but earlier and set yourself a bit of time to relax before the day starts. Its like a slot of time between sleep and actually starting your day tomorrow and your mind will be more restful in the evening. Maybe exercise in the morning would be great too but i personally have never been able to bother, but i imagine it has a much stronger effect
- Stay active during the day. I think the best activity is to hang out with your friends, do some exercise, take a walk, read, do yoga, etc.. Generally just anything but staying home alone, doing nothing and thinking about tomorrow
- Be mindful and try your hardest to stop yourself from overanalyzing. I always remind myself that whatever i have ever been overanalyzing, has actually never happened the way that i thought

I don't have much to get ready for and tbh if I worked which I have I couldn't imagine it being any better most likely worse. I do have a morning routine tho.

I think you'd have to get it prescribed. One thing to do would be to look for an acupuncture school in your area that has a teaching clinic that offers herbal prescriptions. In principle, you could get something prescribed over the phone. There might also be some professional herbalists in your area. If there's a Chinese or Korean neighborhood in your area, there's a good chance there will be herbal shops there, and you could ask them if they can recommend an herbalist.
