People used to believe in all kinds of things regarding Lady Luck smiling down on them, for example - if you find a four-leaf clover that means you've been blessed, and this is the specific superstition I wanted to share my thoughts on.
So when you find a four-leaf clover, what happens is, imo, is that you feel special, you feel, possibly, like you are being watched and guarded by angels, something happens that make you feel safer, or invulnerable, or like a winner.
I mean, if such an unlikely thing happened to me out of all people then surely I must be special right?
Well, it's that exact feeling that may be a manifestation of the Winner Effect.
The winner effect, which has been talked about on Tedx as well as written about in a book, is you getting what you want (usually in competition, physical or mental) in spite of opposition.
Now, finding a four-leaf clover is not exactly a competition, nobody opposes you unless you're in a "Find a four-leaf clover race" but, in a way, you DO win, you do overcome opposition which is the opposition of overwhelming odds of it NOT happening to you.
And when you do that, what happens is basically a placebo effect - you get a boost of testosterone which induces you take chances as well as a boost of dopamine which motivates you and makes you sharper between the ears and THAT is what ACTUALLY leads to so-called luck - you simply being more active, getting at it, proactively looking for opportunities to win, to get what you want, to progress!
So, luck IS real, it's just that it's not magical, it's physical (maybe metaphysical/quantum physical as well but that's for another time) and that's what's so wonderful about it - the fact that you can do something about that every dang day!
Magic is something that's either there or isn't, right?
Whereas something that's physical can be controlled by anyone who has limbs or, in the case of Nick Vujicic, even just a working mouth since he can influence others, move them by inducing positive feelings in them. (E-motion = electricity + motion, since we are part electricity, according to the advanced body scales they have in gyms)
I need someone to edit this all for me I got excited typing this
TL : DR - luck induces the winner effect which positively affects your psychology which may lead to further luck, not accidentally but deliberately the next time.
