Empathy and Advice Welcomed Osteoporosis (not me)

#1
My mom is sick, very sick. She says she's afraid of becoming disabled. She told me that since she was little, she had nightmares about not being able to move her legs. Now she's back from a doctor's appointment (it was a very long trip...) and she told me, almost in tears, that they didn't give her a solution. It's osteoporosis, she has bad knees or something like that. They didn't prescribe anything; I don't want my mom to continue being sick. I'm so scared. Why can't anyone help her? It's all so complicated... It's always been about her health, but now she's in so much pain that she can barely move. I don't want my mom to die
If she dies, I will die too

That's awful, I'm sorry this is happening. I'm glad you love your mom so much but I also know that loving her so much makes things especially hard now that she is sick.

It's fairly common for doctors not to be able to treat an illness. That doesn't mean that there can't be other options though.

You might want to take a look at this link (to a page on SF):

Chinese Herbal Medicine and Acupuncture, World's Second Largest Medical System

Acupuncture in particular is often very good at treating pain, though I don't know about osteoporosis related pain in particular.

I found a couple scientific articles about treating osteoporosis with acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine:

https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC11786478/
https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC9194098/

Some other options might include getting a second opinion, or participating in an experimental drug trial (if any are available).

I hope something can help.

Yes, Perfect Amino can contribute to bone health by providing the essential amino acids needed for collagen production, which is crucial for strong, flexible bones. Perfect Amino is a supplement that delivers a complete spectrum of essential amino acids, which the body cannot produce on its own. These amino acids are the building blocks of protein, including collagen, a key component of bone tissue.

Here's why Perfect Amino's amino acids are beneficial for bone health:
  • Collagen Production:
Perfect Amino helps the body produce collagen, a protein that forms the structural framework of bones and connective tissues.

  • Bone Mineral Density:
Some studies suggest that sufficient amino acid intake, including those provided by Perfect Amino, can be associated with improved bone mineral density.

  • Building Blocks of Protein:
Amino acids are essential building blocks for all tissues in the body, including bones, and Perfect Amino provides the full range of essential amino acids.

  • Muscle Strength:
Muscle strength, supported by Perfect Amino, plays a role in preventing osteoporosis and preserving bone density.
While Perfect Amino can contribute to bone health, it's important to remember that a balanced diet with sufficient calcium and vitamin D, along with regular weight-bearing exercise, are also crucial for optimal bone health.
