Venting AND ITS AS TRIVIAL AS A FUCKING GAMING CONSOLE

Not much is more fun and therapeutic than gaming (even more so when I am toked).
but i sold my nintendo 64 because i didnt like it, the NES i had for ages broken a long time ago and i am still yet to get it replaced (out of a lack of funds etc)
Right now im limited to Newgrounds pretty much, its okay but i think gaming the proper way (onto a separate device not the fucking internet) would be better

but as I browse the cex website taking ages to decide what to buy memories of my brother haunts me.
HES THE COOL ONE BY HAVING THE 2000S BLACK XBOX, IM SUCH AN UGLY SIMLIKE SLUGLIKE NPC IN COMPARISON ("its so uncool for a generation Z person to like 80s/90s not the 2000s") Im so jealous of how way more olderbrothercore he is in comparison to me
Yet i cant help it though the whole XBOX is too curvy looking for me, i prefer 2D games in general

Nintendo switch would feel kinda weird, 3d games make me cringe.
I considered getting a nintendo DS but the game selection is shit ( i have a 3ds, shittier looking than a normal DS, but i lost the cable).
Memories of borrowing my brothers XBOX to play games, asking him questions "Isn't it embarrassing to enjoy playing [insert game i happen to enjoy]" and i got an affirmative answer

Im just cringing at how my younger self thought they were all quirky by making the 80s their entire personality and collecting loads of antiques, they look ridiculous without realising it.

NEVERMIND I THINK ILL GO STRAIGHT FOR THE SNES, PIXELATED GAMES DO MAKE ME THINK OF THOSE WEIRD MODERN "5925834075380673 GAMES IN ONE DEVICE" CHINESE CONSOLES THE IM NOT LIKE THE OTHER GUYS ART TEACHER HAD IN HIS WEIRD ROOM IN THE SPECIAL ED SCHOOL fond memories, INSPITE OF THE "woww Retro gaming So cool and quirky !!!1!!!" i think its the best option anyway
but maybe i shouldnt maybe i should get a nintendo game cube instead

the entire post being said I think that retro gaming, coming under purposeful use of old technology for aesthetic purposes umbrella, coming under hyper-individuality Im not like the other boys/girls umbrella is kinda cringe.

I mean doing what you want is based, but forcing yourself to do or like certain things just to give off a certain image is cringe (sadly my brothers more the former and im more the latter).

but OBVIOUSLY if you play on the original xbox or a SNES or whatever when everyone else has a PS5 or somthing of course youre more suspectible to being bullied

You never play on PC?
Steam is a gold mine of indie retro style games
Don't need a good PC either
(However, one big downside of steam's massive catalogue is all the garbage games you have to look through)

I got a 2004 laptop but i can never be bothered to use it, too much hassle unplugging this one
