What I do (and do not) on the forum? :)

I decided to explain the specifics of my communication on the forum. Just so you know. :)

I visit the forum almost constantly. Although there are periods when I don't come here for weeks. But usually I only read what other people write and don't write anything myself. It's because of compulsions. Sometimes it's easier to me to post something, sometimes it's impossible.

Mostly I read positive treads, like "Laugh Factory" or "What have you accomplished today?" And (I don't know why) threads like "What's for dinner?" or "What's for breakfast?"... Despite that I'm a vegetarian... *facepalm

It's hard for me to read threads about people's problems, because often I don't know what to say to them. But in these posts I'm looking for situations similar to mine.

And most important... About "Likes". I always want to click on "Like" button when I want someone to know that I appreciate his/her answer, or when I simply like his/her post. But when I do so, there are starting compulsion moments when I click "Like" then "Unlike" and than again "Like" dozens of times (a compulsion that consists in repeating of actions). *wacko So I decided not to touch the "Like"-button yet. :) Sorry about that... *shy

Just take things as you are comfortable with. I happen to "Like" the like button not only when I agree with something posted or am tickled by it, but it can also be a good way for a person to see that they have been noticed and acknowledged by others.

Yes. And it's a way to acknowledge a person without having to reply to their post. I find this helpful when I'm too tired to write but want to be supportive.

The same. Some days I can barely muster a sentence but I can at least click like on any post I read to acknowledge the person. It does feel strange at time though, like when some days you might read "I want to die" and you click Like - I expect in most cases people aren't saying they like the fact the poster wants to die, but just acknowledging to show them they've been heard.

Exactly. I know what you mean.
