Has anyone here been on semaglutide for weight loss? I have a script ready to fill tomorrow.

I have been told I can expect to lose between 15-20kg.

I am curious about the experiences of others.

Yes. Its not magical though. If you still eat the same you won't lose.

The thing with it is it makes food leave the stomach slower so you are less hungry.

I lost almost 10 lbs quickly but then gained it back.

But some folks DO have great results with it and I wish you all the best!

Though it can be effective for weight loss - by helping to suppress appetite as well as reducing gastric transit time meaning that you'll have the feeling of staying full longer it is important in order to gain the full benefit of this med to follow a tailored weight management and support programme . By this of course a combination of the types of food that you eat as well as excercise that'll be suitable for you.

Hope you find it beneficial !

I can understand your frustration. There does seem to be supply issues in other countries as well whereby demand has been outstripping supply in some areas. There's actually been a knock-on effect over here (at least) in the UK where there's been interruption in the supply chain of other GLP-1 agonists that are primarily used for managerment of diabetes but have been prescribed off-label for weight management purposes. So yeah, bit of screwed up situation....

All I can suggest is to keep checking with the pharmacies, see if they can actually obtain any dates of availability.

I've been on this for a while, idk exactly how long, maybe a year now? I lost 25 pounds. I couldn't find it last week, so i skipped it. It was like I blew up immediately. This wont be easy to get off of. I'm glad my doc gave it to me because my meds for diabetes weren't working well anymore. My neice tried it but I don't think she changed her diet much so it didn't have a lasting effect. I found it really changed my appetite to the point I hadn't eaten all day and was forcing some food in. I hope you have good results and best of luck with it. I find they sometimes don't have it ready where I am too, it's in high demand everywhere.

I can't fill a script anywhere. I tried multiple pharmacys. They all said check back in a week. It's a bit frustrating 😕
I also heard from a friend - while I was still in NSW - thaf there are some issues with getting weight loss medication, even though she is in Newcastle, not rural at all.

Best to you on the journey. Walking an hour a day is great. :)

Interesting thing happened regards Ozempic (semiglutide), my local pharmacy (I dislike the big chains) said "we were losing too much money" and have discontinued carrying this drug.

So after several calls I ended up at CVS (yuk).

I am going from .5 to 1 dosage wise, anybody done this? Have any side effects?

I have been looking into weight loss options myself, and I recently came across semaglutide. It seems like a promising option for weight loss, especially for those who have tried other methods without much success. From what I understand, it helps regulate appetite and control blood sugar levels, which can help lose weight. In my experience, diet plays a significant role in weight loss. I’ve been incorporating goat whey protein into my diet, and it’s been beneficial. Goat whey protein is easier to digest compared to cow's milk protein and is a great source of high-quality protein. It helps in muscle recovery and keeps me feeling full longer, which can prevent overeating.
