Jim's Cafe - Sun.Apr.14, 2024

Hey everyone, saw a cafe hasn't been posted since Thursday so thought I'd post one for today.
It doesn't really have much of a "theme" overall, but I put together a collage so if you want to "pick" your fave pic from it then that's cool. If not then I have some questions if you would prefer to answer them
Ok here are the questions and collage, hope you like them and also hope everyone has a nice day!

Ok now for my reply to those q's (I know they are kinda "random" q's lol, still pretty sick though so I guess my brain is just in random mode right now or something, just too tired to think of "better" ones so hope they're ok) and also pick my fave pic of those 6, it is really hard but I pick the rainbow flower of life (2nd pic)

No, rarely get sick thank god. Sick right now though which sucks, hoping it won't last much longer at least...

2. Would you rather be a moon or a star?
Star

3. Do you enjoy reading?
Yup, I love it

4. If you could be any animal, which one would you want to be?
Probably a bird, like an eagle or something, so I'd be able to fly all over the world and get to see all the amazing countries/cities/places in this world

Not anymore. I used to get it more than once in a year when I used to work.

Hi & thanks, @JMG - for doing such an exceptional & emplary job, of opening & (of) main-taining, the cafe of Jim's place we all got goin' on - in here! . . . ( ; And I like that last one: (of the "collection," of 6!)~* now there are many others that I admire, even outside of that/or those; such as even the header, but I'll bore you no further! : )

1.) Not generally speaking. I got some kind of a bug that had been going around here the start / end of the year. And while it has mostly resolved, some things (as in symptoms, like sore throat & cough, head-ache, etc.) still exist: just not as prominently as before. But I don't know what's up w/my immune system lately? Or these days. Perhaps time to go get the WBC's counted? Perhaps, not~!* Leave it up to... FATE- hahaha!

2.) Dang, I don't know? I thought I did, then I'd thought about it for a split-second more, & now I'm noot su sore. ;-D

3.) Yes, well. I used to. Although never a proficient one, in terms of speed, or/nor~ (more) 'comprehension, 'shall we say? It was fun. Like w/other story telling art forms, however. I was never that interested in, or deeply concerned (as in) above all else by--the plot! So that was good, given what was given. . ;D

4.) Unsure. Will report back when I think of an answer. Or one comes to me, in a "shaman~like dream."

I like the sunset on the beach. Just came home from resort with a pool for my uncle's birthday and it was very refreshing. Got a bit of tan, I know I'm brown but dark brown lol

Not cold but coughs, I'm not sure how my lungs got sensitive even to bits of dust. Unable to deal with smoke specifically cigarettes and vapes.

A Moon I guess opposite of the luminous body of a star.
3. Do you enjoy reading?
I enjoy watching foreign shows like Kdramas and Animes so I read subtitles if that counts. Books if it's about something I'm working on.
4. If you could be any animal, which one would you want to be?
Maybe an animal that's living peacefully undiscovered, unbothered and not directly affected by humans if there is any.
Imagine living the life the way life should be. I mean like it's not normal for your home to be destroyed just to be lived by few humans who doesn't do any good to this world.
A square kilometer will benefit to thousands of animals but can be taken by one house.

1. It's pollen season here. I don't usually get sick. But my nose has been running lately. TMI I know. Even though we have the Boston Marathon tomorrow, my nose wishes to compete.

2. Either. I know not much of a response.

3. I usually read every night before going to sleep. It relaxes me now. usually mysteries although I have recently been stuck in Christian suspense romance novels. I used to do scifi but i find it doesn't hold my interest nowadays.

4. Wolves have always held my heart. They can be loners, mate for life, and very self sufficient. Also have a paint by numbers that I did during my dark days of two white wolves in the dark with birch trees. It is the one thing I wanted from my ex's house, and he eventually gave it to me. It took my two years it was pretty big. My daughter helped and we didn't always fall the recommended colors and it still came out nice.

No. Rarely. One in a blue moon.

Star so I can sprinkle start dust into creative minds.

Yes when I am able to.

Eagle for sure. It is my spirit animal. Discovered it a few years back.

More often than i should, cos my dad keeps bring bugs back from my sister's.

Definitely a moon. You can hover around in the orbit of something else, and you affect the tides there, which means you make a difference, but it's not essential. Being a star means the entire solar system orbits around you, everything that lives in that solar system sees you and depends on you, and the system itself is relying on you to not steer the entire thing into a black hole or something. Just, no, on so many levels.

I used to absolutely love it. Then when i first got depression, i straight up lost the concentration required to do it for a couple years, i was always too distracted by my own thoughts. These days i'm back to a place where i can focus and read, but i don't do it as much as i wish i did, cos it's still harder than it used to be, my brain drifts and sentences just refuse to be absorbed.

Would it shock you if i said a goat?

Nice job on opening the cafe and finding some engaging questions to ask, in spite of how rough you're feeling, and for tagging me @JMG. I hope you can feel better soon.

I don't get colds too much I don't think, but I do have bad allergies often. I used to always get it really bad when I would have a cold and end up with some kind of lung infection or whatever. Did end up getting pneumonia in early 2023. Not too severely, but it still really sucked.
2. Would you rather be a moon or a star?
I'd like to be a moon so I could be best friends with a planet.
3. Do you enjoy reading?
I love reading. I'm doing less reading for pleasure since I'm in my PhD program, but I still try to make some time for it. I at least pick up a book when I'm in the bathroom or sometimes on the bus. I just finished a book called Cult-ish about the language that cults use, and I'm about to read Against Technoableism, arguing against the idea that disabled people need to be "fixed" by technology.
4. If you could be any animal, which one would you want to be?
I wanna be a capybara and chill out and get along with all types of other animals.

That's a tough choice, but today I'd be a donkey so I'd have an excuse to be an ass.
