An eternal favorite! I loved it in the 90s but it wasn't until about 10 years ago that I really listened to the lyrics and then it took on a whole new meaning and love for me. Thanks @JmpMster for sharing, it never loses it's charm.
I loved this song, the words really hit home with me, it helped me through a bad patch in my teens, when I tried to talk to my mother about it, strangely enough she called me every derogatory name you could think of, she's not very good with positive emotional behavior, and that's why we have not spoken in 20 years. Even now i can still remember the song and the conversation.
Thank you for putting the song on here it really has wonderful lyrics.
Sorry, but this song is so melodically horrible and full of conflicting cliches. It wasn't written by them. It was, as everything with the huge record companies, an attempt to sell a record based on the novelty of having the kids of 60's/70's singers team up for their own "song." Not trying to be mean, but to illustrate the sad reality of the music business -- even 30 years ago.
For some reason, when I hear this song, I find myself hoping that 45 does not listen to it. He does not need to be encouraged to 'hold on for one more day' (to his job) It should come with disclaimers on who it's not targeted at. Ugh, what a world.
