If you want to quote the whole post, just press reply and it will show the post in your reply box - reply under the quote.

If you want to quote just a little bit of a post, highlight the bit you want to quote and a box should appear on the highlited bit saying Quote and Reply. Click on that and you'll get the message moved to multi quote thing. When you start to reply, there's a little box on the bottom right saying Insert Quote or Add Quote, click on that and your quoted bit will appear with an option to add it to your reply.

Sorry, I'm rubbish at explaining techy stuff but I hope you understand :)

You have to click on "insert quotes", it's to the right of the "post reply" option, below the text box in which you write an answer

hi @Sunspots and @Auri and @ everyoneelsebeinghelpful,

I'm exploring several "how to's" here today and playing with the suggestions given from all my questions. I know this isn't the troubleshooting area, but I just stumbled onto this post from 2018 and halted trying further after getting to the place of getting something I highlighted moved to multiquote.

I'm not able to go further because I might have quite a bit put into multiquote hold accidentally over time aside from adding a few just now that remains in there and am afraid to type REPLY now because I have never deleted any of it, a years worth of exploring attempts here and I'm afraid ALL( a volume) will show up in the one post.

?? Is there a way for SF to delete the post if I go ahead and take a chance. OR BETTER YET IS there a 'delete all' ability for my current contents of MULTIQUOTE holding space to just simply empty it out now. Can SF take care of emptying this specific contents from your end for me? There's nothing in it I want.

I'm guessing this might be how people are highlighting a segment of a post to attach to their reply to that post

Thanks !
Janis

I think the easiest will be to post all the quotes and an admin can delete the post, but we'll see what their opinion is. ;) @Freya @Walker

How have you been quoting this whole time though?! :D And do you understand how to quote and multiquote now, sweetie? :)

I am not sure what is going on with this but why not open up an ask the staff and just dump it all in there? That way it isn't on the forum and you don't have to worry how long it takes for one of us to get to it, or even whether it is deleted at all? :)

Alright, sounds great.
I have never quoted, I haven't known how to. I will be able to understand once I actually practice the quoting. Then I'll try multiquoting after that. As Ella asked,
I have no idea when it says it's gone TO multiquote
how to FIND it and continue on:). I know this is all so simple, I just avoided being able to do it for a year and decided it's time to learn.
I'll leave everyone alone after this for a while with my litany of questions.*yes
