Slow site for a few hours

We are attempting to rebuild the search index - it is a a very resource intensive process to re-catalogue 1.4 million forum posts, plus another million or so profile posts. If it works the post history and search will be fixed. While this process is running ion the back ground today there may be some lagging on the site and in chat due to the amount of server resources being utilized to rebuild the caches and index.

Thank you for letting us know. It hasn't affected me at all thank goodness as I really needed to talk today lol!! All the hard work is appreciated!

Thanks for the heads up. I noticed it but thought it was my Internet, Lol.

It slowed down lag time i chatting with people.
Not "serious" but definitely some lag time between comments.

We had a lot of updates database going on all weekend- hopefully things will improve now that the big pieces are done and will not be tens of thousands of threads being updated at time, just couple hundred when they are on weekly schedule now that all are getting caught up.
